I'll start with our first day in the City of Light. We arrived in Paris early in the morning, just a couple days before Christmas, giving us plenty of time to check into our apartment and debate about what we should do for our very first day in Paris. There were so many choices! Should we head straight to a museum? Take a bus tour to get the lay of the land? Or perhaps we should view Paris' major monuments while cruising down the Seine on a boat?
In the end, we decided that we didn't want to be couped up indoors or inside of a vehicle. After all, the flight to Paris from where we live in Singapore took 14 hours! Instead, we headed to the Champ de Mars − a long public park − to stretch our legs and check out one of Paris' most famous attractions: the Eiffel Tower!
Unfortunately, the line for tickets to the top of the Eiffel Tower was long − stretching across its wide base. No climb to the top for us!
Our disappointment didn't last long, though, because we caught a glimpse of a carousel nearby and treated our little Parisian to a ride.
Have you ever traveled to Paris with your family? What did you do on your first day after the voyage there?
