New Years Resolution #3: Get Strong!
Thursday, January 3, 2013
There was once a time when I was able to run a marathon. I even swam, biked and jogged my way through a triathlon not too long ago.
Then, I got pregnant, miscarried and got pregnant again. My body has been through so much this past year, especially now that I am on bed rest with this latest pregnancy. In fact, just walking up a flight of stairs is tough now. As a result, my third and final resolution for 2013 is to regain my health and strength after I have the baby and get the green light from my doctor. I'm not talking about trying to look dazzling in a bikini. I just want to be able to walk up a flight of stairs again without huffing and puffing. More importantly, I want to be able to play with my kids and chase them around the house. I can't wait to hear them squeal in delight when I do! :)
Do you have fitness goals for the New Year?
Cheers,
Kristina

I feel your pain. I remember when I was preggers, I kept saying I wanted my body back. People would remind me it would take time to get my post baby body back. That's when I'd tell them I just wanted "my body" back, as in, I wanted to move around without huffing and puffing etc. Hope everything goes well with your pregnancy and afterwards.
Thanks for commenting & following my blog! Followed back :)
To get strong is def on my new years resolutions as well... need to get back in shape!
Summer x
Wishing you and your baby health.
Ohhh Kristina, this post made me sad! I also was in run 50 miles a week before I got pregnant. I ran 20 miles a week until month 4 and then and ever since I've stopped I've gained 55 pounds. Ugh but I am also hoping to regain my marathon training strength! I'm ao sorry youve had a rough pregnancy! I am so eager to getthis baby out for sure!!! Only a couple more months!!!
Once upon a time I couldcrun a marathon too! Like you, Im looking forward to regaining my athletic abilities after my pregnancy. It sounds like the past year has been a tough one for you, I hope all the best for you and your little one in 2013.
You'll get there! Just concentrate for now on delivering a healthy baby. I was on bed rest for 5 months during one of my pregnancies. Just remember that this is not FOREVER! Once the baby is born and you have settled in, you'll find the time to get back in shape!
