Rainy-Day Lessons

Thursday, August 2, 2012

I learned a few lessons after getting caught in the rain for the first time here in Singapore:

1. When it rains, it really pours!

2. An umbrella that is small enough to fit into my purse isn't going to cut it. I need to buy a bigger umbrella or I'll get soaked... again!

and

3. I must get a plastic cover for my umbrella before entering a mall on Singapore's Orchard Road. Otherwise, I risk running into a mall employee who won't let me get out of the rain until my wet umbrella poses no threat to the mall's clean and dry floor.

What rainy-day lessons have you learned recently?

Cheers,
Kristina

A GREAT example of different cultures, different locales! Monsoon season will surely be interesting. Better make sure your boat is ready! ;) Enjoy the sunny days when you've got 'em.

Yet another beautiful (& fascinating to me!) example of the cleanliness of Singapore! In my neck of the woods in the PNW, people look at you like you must be a tourist if you have an umbrella when it rains :)
