Of course, I came to this realization while we were in the middle of packing for our move. Plus, my husband was trying to finish his finals for graduate school. He only had an hour to spare on a specific day. And, the photo shoot had to take place near his school so that he could quickly return and get back to work. What photographer would be up for this last-minute challenge?
I remembered that a friend of mine -- Camille O. Martin-Jones -- was a great photographer. I'd seen her in action on a photo assignment, taking photos of moms and kids running around at an event. And the photos turned out beautifully. Plus, she captured my favorite shot of my daughter at her birthday party. It turns out, Camille was also preparing to move. Luckily, she was still willing to take our family photos and work with our time and location constraints. Hooray!
We met Camille at a beach near the Naval Postgraduate School and within an hour we had photos of our family that will remind us of the cool ocean breezes, turquoise waters and all the fun we had in Monterey. Thanks, Camille!
Do you take family photos at each place you live? I'd love to see them and I'm sure others would too! Email me a family photo with names and a description of the place the photo was taken at mytravelingtroop@gmail.com and I'd be happy to share them in a blog post soon.
Cheers,
Kristina
