Picnics, Bunnies & Bonfires

My sister Kim is back in London after visiting us in Monterey, Calif., for a week. We miss her dearly, but had a blast showing her some of our favorite things to do and see in the area while she was here. With the sun shining the day my sister arrived, we headed straight to Lovers Point Park in Pacific Grove for a picnic.

We spent the next day in Carmel-by-the-sea. First, we watched my daughter have some Easter fun at Devendorf Park, where the Lions Club hosted Breakfast with the Bunny. The event -- which we also attended last year -- included breakfast, face painting, games, an opportunity to pet rabbits and photo ops with the Easter Bunny.

After Breakfast with the Bunny, we dined on sushi at Akaoni -- one of our favorite restaurants -- and window shopped.

Later that evening, we hosted a bonfire at Carmel Beach. We thought it would be a fun, yet relaxing way to end the day and introduce Kim to some of our friends.

What an eventful two days! I'll share more of my sister's visit in a post next week. In the meantime, have a beautiful weekend!
