Happy SITS Day!

Saturday, March 17, 2012
Hello friends! I'm blushing, because today I am featured on SITS. Are you scratching your head and wondering what that is? If you are, then I'll be happy to explain: SITS, or the Secret to Success is Support, is a network of 15,000 women who support each other and their respective blogs. This group of talented women swing by each others' blogs to leave comments. The network is also a fun way to learn about blogging.

My Traveling Troop takes a train ride at the Santa Barbara Zoo.

For those of you who are swinging by my blog for the first time, welcome! My name is Kristina and I love to write, which is why I became a journalist and blogger. I am married to a southern gentleman named Clayton. Together, we have a beautiful daughter.

My husband, daughter and I explore Point Lobos State Natural Reserve
in Carmel, Calif.

Since my husband is in the U.S. Navy, we are on a path in life that will involve a lot of moving. And that is totally okay with me, because I am a big fan of traveling and exploring new places! So far, we have lived in Alexandria, Va., and Monterey, Calif. Our next stop is somewhere in Asia.

At My Traveling Troop, you will find posts chronicling my military family's journey moving, living and traveling around the world. I also share the lessons and tips we learn along the way. Here are highlights from some of our adventures:

A Walk In Point Lobos

Butterflies In Pacific Grove

Plane Activities For Kids

Moving Mondays: How To Move Smarter

A Sunday In Old Town Alexandria

A Family-Friendly Trip To Wine Country

I hope the blog will help other military families who face life on the move. Not part of a military family? No problem! I think you will enjoy the blog too. Military families are scattered all around the world, perhaps even in places you've always wanted to visit. So, stick around and come explore the world with us!

Cheers,
Kristina

We live in the Washington DC area now...and will be for a long time. My hubby just got out of the AF and we decided we enjoyed DC so much we built a house here. Old Town is my favorite part about this area so it was nice to read about it on your blog. We haven't eaten at the Majestic yet but will have to check it out. Happy SITS day!

Happy SITS day! I'm not someone who moves frequently, but living far from all our family means that we travel frequently, so I'm looking forward to reading your tips. Off I go to read about plane activities for kids!

Happy SITS day!

It sounds like you have a fun life!! I couldn't imagine moving to Asia! My bf's dream location to live is Alexandria, VA so that's awesome you lived there. Right now we're in NYC [both law students], but once we graduate that might be where we end up! I've never lived in Monterey, but I'm a born & raised California girl. Having lived in two amazing US locations, I'm excited to see how moving to Asia turns out!! Good luck :)
