Fourth Of July In Monterey

Wednesday, July 6, 2011
Monterey, Calif., didn’t throw a fireworks show on the Fourth of July. However, the city did host a party on the historic Colton Hall’s lawn to celebrate the holiday.

The party was festive with red, white and blue decor. And the barbecued food, which included ribs and tri tip, was messy and oh-so-good!

The Fourth of July party also included live music. Shane Dwight rocked the party with his guitar-playing skills, and the band Pop Fiction covered popular tunes from such artists as Lady Gaga and Beyonce.
As Pop Fiction played, my mom -- who is in town visiting -- and my daughter hit the dance floor and grooved to the music until it was time to leave. I even got out on the dance floor a couple of times. Thankfully, there are no pictures of my less than stellar dance moves. :)
How did you spend the Fourth of July with your family?
Cheers,
Kristina

That meal looks like a great way to celebrate the holiday! We went to St. Pete Beach for grouper sandwiches!
